How Do I Receive the California Clean Fuel Reward?

Funded by utilities participating in the Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS), the California Clean Fuel Reward is available to all California residents regardless of their electricity provider. It’s simple: your retailer will include the reward in the sales transaction when you purchase your new BEV or PHEV vehicle, and you’ll be asked to sign the Program Customer Agreement. Here’s what you need to know about qualifying for the California Clean Fuel Reward:

• You must drive either a Battery Electric (BEV) or Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) vehicle.
• Your vehicle must have a battery capacity of 5 kWh or greater.
• The California Clean Fuel Reward is offered on a sliding scale up to $1,500.
• Your reward amount depends on your BEV or PHEV battery size.

What Kia Models are Eligible for the California Clean Fuel Reward?

The Kia lineup currently offers four eligible models: the Soul EV, the Niro EV, the Niro Plug-In Hybrid, and the Optima Plug-In Hybrid. • Reward Amount – $1,500.00

Kia Niro EV

• Battery Size – 64 kWh
• Reward Amount – $1,500.00

Kia Niro Plug-In Hybrid

• Battery Size – 8.9 kWh
• Reward Amount – $908.44

Kia Optima Plug-In Hybrid

• Battery Size – 9.8 kWh
• Reward Amount – $983.43
